Hoot’s Agri-Market with Jona Kay
Jona Kay’s family have been working in the family business for many generations. They want to continue their business throughout the generations! Over the years Jona Kay has learned many things about business. She first suggests you know your numbers. Without being able to run a budget, it’s hard to make money!
Second, she suggests having a contingency plan. If you are disciplined to set aside money for emergencies, you will be able to survive any season, even something like COVID.
Sam’s Heavenly Nectar with Sam Sease Suyo
Meet Sam! Sam Sease Suyo is a 5th grader at Eisenhower Elementary. He is the founder and CEO of Heavenly Nectar, a line of natural smoothies. Heavenly Nectar’s creation was inspired by his grandmother from Peru, and the smoothie recipes he has saved and created himself. Sam enjoys reading, listening to music, watching action Anime, spending time with family and friends, and hanging out at places like Barnes and Noble. Sam is part of the Business Bootup initiative from Loveworks Leadership that is designed to help school age kids bring their products and services to Norman’s Farm Market. Additionally, Sam recently participated in the Scripps Spelling Bee where he represented his school and reached the District level. Also, he received second place in the Elementary Poster Design Category for The Celebration of World Languages at Dove Schools. His dream is to become a Robotic Engineer along with having his own business. He currently lives in Norman, OK with his parents Ryan & Monica.
Sam wishes he knew a little bit more about budgeting before he started his business. There is a lot that goes into product creation! Sam also works to gain more customers. After some market research, he has been able to reach more people.
Sam encourages everyone to smile! Customers love to see a friendly face. Don’t be afraid to seek out new clientele.
