Episode 81: Doubling Down in the Face of Challenges with Brookelyn Coffey

Personal Growth with Michael and Carolyn

At Loveworks, we believe that one of the ways that you can become one of the best versions of yourself is to focus on personal growth. We love curating things like books, music, organizations, blogs or resources that have encouraged your personal growth.

Today, we are going to share a recent lesson at Loveworks called, the half-hearted mountain climber.

The lesson is about just being involved in something or being committed to something. People who are not fully committed (involved) will exchange excellence for mediocrity just like the mountain climber who is not committed to their climb never reach the top of the mountain. It requires total commitment to the goal. Leaders are the same way. Involvement and commitment to rising from a fall or a setback are key.

Brookelyn Coffey: Ironman Athlete

Brookelyn was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana and is currently a sophomore at the University of Southern Indiana studying exercise science to become an Occupational Therapist. She works at a Boutique in West Lafayette called Dawson & Daisy. In her spare time you will find Brookelyn doing her Ironman training!

Brookelyn’s Advice –

Don’t let others opinions stop you from what you want to do. It’s so easy to let those negative comments and doubt get to you. Find that circle of people that support you no matter what. Everyone comes into your life for a reason and many teach you what do not want as a friend next time but there are those rare people who come into your life that support you 110%, keep those around you! Don’t let those people who will be irrelevant to you later in life control you and stopping you from what you wanted to do.

You can find Brookelyn on instagram and facebook.
