Personal Growth with Michael and Carolyn

At Loveworks, we believe that one of the ways that you can become one of the best versions of yourself is to focus on personal growth. We love curating things like books, music, organizations, blogs, or resources that have encouraged your personal growth.

Today we are going to talk a new activity we have recently tried.

Laura Carnagie: Carnagie Art Co.

Laura Carnagie’s dream of training for Olympic trials and competing in the Olympics came to an abrupt end following a debilitating car accident in 2011.

Refusing to give up on life, she built a company that would allow her to make connections.

Utilizing the skills she gains from studying Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing at The Colorado Institute of Art she started Carnagie Art and Company where she uses her paintings, mixed media works, costumes, photography, and sculptures, to guide her viewers in an exploration of emotions, history, and connections as she tells the story of life the way she sees it.

“Live to connect“ has become the creed by which Laura now embraces each day.

Laura is a current board member of the Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce and Pauls Valley Arts Council, a Paul Harris Fellow – Rotary International, and is a frequent guest speaker for businesses, churches, and schools.

Laura Carnagie lives on a ranch in Oklahoma with her family and a myriad of animals.

Laura’s ADVICE –

Be real, no matter the situation, be engaged, be able to communicate and express yourself to those around you.  Become good at speaking your truth. and speak it to yourself. Find your voice and begin to step out of the box. Find someone you can trust and talk to them. Speak how you feel regardless of whether anybody else agrees with you, or thinks you’re right. Speak up and you can set it free, and then go create the feelings of what it’s done to you as some modality, run, climb mountains, hike, go fishing, whatever you’re doing to get out and allow it time to continue to surface in the layers that it will surface in.

Key Takeaways:

  • Seek happiness and peace as you are striving to meet your goals
  • If you feel like you’re falling through the cracks, SPEAK UP!
  • Make sure to take time to pause to refocus and find your balance
