Thank you for checking out our monthly donor newsletter to get the chance to look at all the good that’s been created this month through the investment of our donors and business partnerships!
At Loveworks we believe you are NEVER too young to be a dreamer and NEVER too old to do your dream. We are committed to helping students discover their potential and pursue their BIG dreams with programs that focus on building character, leadership development, and entrepreneurialism. Through mentorship and experiential learning, students are equipped to make positive life choices, empowered to solve problems, and explore career paths.

We recently teamed up with Evergreen Academy: An Acton Academy to launch the first ever Norman Children’s Business Fair, an innovative event already taking place in cities across the nation. Each child created a product or service, developed a brand, built a marketing strategy, and then opened business for customers at this one-day marketplace. They were responsible for the setup, sales, interacting with customers, and even pitching judges. The event was a resounding success thanks to all of the incredible hard work of our young dreamers and doers, volunteers, judges, donors, and sponsors.
“The deepest learning happens when all our senses are engaged and we are working on a project that is meaningful to us. The fair provides this opportunity to children.” -Matina Hunnell, founder of Evergreen: an Acton Academy.

Jordan, high school senior and volunteer, is no stranger to Business Boot Up Camp, a 5 day entrepreneurship program for ages 10-14. As a former Loveworks middle school student she discovered her passion for entrepreneurship in the summer of 2017 when she and friends created their own summer business in the same program! This summer, she returned as a Business Coach to help foster the entrepreneurial spirit in our young students which reminded her of the origins of her passion for business. What’s next for Jordan? After her senior year, she plans on going to college and pursuing a Business degree!

Community partnerships are the fruit of a thriving community. We are thankful for the work completed by the Cleveland County Habitat for Humanity Restore to complete our family bathrooms off of our cafe area. The opportunity provided students a hands-on-lesson that tackled real-life challenges!
This summer we were also presented with the unique opportunity to host 50 students from the AT&T Summer Bridge program at the Gallogly College of Engineering. This group was a force to be reckoned with campus projects and preparing a great environment as we eagerly anticipate returning and new students in the fall for Afterschool Leadership.
Stay tuned for our next collaborative project that will appear in our garden later this month!
We are hopeful that you see how the support of our donors and business partners directly impacts the heart of our students and their families. Thank you to our donors and volunteers for being part of our story and investing in the lives of our students at Loveworks!
