Look at the Good You’ve Created: Issue No. 2

Thank you for checking out our monthly donor newsletter to get the chance to look at all the good that’s been created this month through the investment of our donors and business partnerships!

At Loveworks we believe you are NEVER too young to be a dreamer and NEVER too old to do your dream.  We are committed to helping students discover their potential and pursue their BIG dreams with programs that focus on building character, leadership development, and entrepreneurialism. Through mentorship and experiential learning, students are equipped to make positive life choices, empowered to solve problems, and explore career paths.

The Business Boot Up Program, a unique collaboration between the Norman Farm Market and Loveworks Leadership, has successfully supported seven young entrepreneurs sell their products at the farmer’s market!  The program is an initiative and community built to support innovation and creativity in young entrepreneurs ages 8 – 15. Each business develops a product or service, creates a budget & marketing plan, and even create a pitch that will wow future investors.  Through weekly mentorship meetings and interviews with other young entrepreneurs these students are prepared to experience real-life business and entrepreneurship.  We believe you are never too young to start a business!

We are excited to welcome Susan Bergen as a member of our governing board! Susan is a long-time supporter of Loveworks and is part of the Village of Dreamers and Doers, including her vision to even better our culinary program with fresh vegetables and fruits from a garden right behind the Loveworks Center. Here’s a throwback to 2019 when we broke ground on the Loveworks garden and Susan helped us make our dreams a reality.

Susan is the Chief Executive Officer of Bergen Enterprises. Her vision for the company is that Bergen Enterprises will be recognized as an organization with innovative and successful business lines including restaurants, agriculture, energy, land management, investments, and sustainable resource development. Susan developed the mission statement of Bergen Enterprises to represent her philosophy of life and work

Last month we held our first annual Spark Day, an opportunity to ignite the spark in each student to take a step to discover and live out their dreams.  We invited students 4th-8th grade to an extra special and extra BIG day of programming that included lots of energetic activities, fun group games, and food!  Students joined in a live recording of the Dreamers and Doers Podcast with an interview with Mike Reilly, an icon and the Voice of Ironman. Generation Why, a collective of creative artists of multiple mediums (dancing, rapping, and spoken word) who aim to motivate every generation by revealing their purpose and providing opportunities to pursue it, entertained and inspired students through their message of hope and purpose.

We are hopeful that you see how the support of our donors and business partners directly impacts the heart of our students and their families. Thank you to our donors and volunteers for being part of our story and investing in the lives of our students at Loveworks!

The Village is an incredible community of generous, passionate, and determined people – just like you. They give monthly to support programs that equip students for real life with mentorship, leadership skills, and experiential learning. Join The Village today!
