Karena Crawford: Owner of Norman Nerds
Karena is the owner of Norman Nerds, an Information Technology Service company. She earned her degree in marketing from the University of Oklahoma. While she had minimal computer experience when she and her husband, Eric, established Norman Nerds, through the years, answering service calls she’s driving to calls about as much as her husband, helping with problems that range from the most complicated malfunctions and the nastiest computer viruses to teaching customers basic skills, like how to turn on their computers.
Somewhere in the early stages of his business, the team discovered that their job had changed from working on computers to helping people. They still works on computers, but, while they’re doing that, he’s talking with customers and developing relationships.
For Eric and Karena, Norman Nerds was a surprising success, but as it turned out, the two Norman High graduates were fulfilling a need in their community.
